- Installation: BRASS GARDSERTS™ for wood can be used in hard or soft woods, the coarse external self-cutting thread provides both strength and the ability to be installed without splitting the wood. Once properly installed, Wood GARDSERTS™ will not back out. As Plastic material densities vary, try testing a small area with a sharp knife. If you can achieve shaving a curl, the BRASS GARDSERT™ will install successfully, slot down. If the plastic is difficult to carve, use Regular GARDSERTS™For medium to hard wood and plastic: Start Wood GARDSERT™ slot down. Turn in Wood GARDSERT™ with a common screw that matches internal thread, using a hex nut as a stop and a wrench to turn in the Wood GARDSERT™. For soft wood: Start Wood GARDSERT™ slot up. Screw in with a flat head screwdriver.
